Sri Lanka has always been on the list of countless tourists. While you will discover 2000 plus years of culture, you can marvel at the wildlife and wander past scenic landscapes. Apart from this, you will undoubtedly feel peaceful at different places across regions.
In this 16 days tour, we will visit many places of worship, some forts and parks, and places worth visiting during the tour. At Jaffna, we will take you to the Nallur Kandaswamy Temple, which features an ornate Gopuram tower. Moreover, if we can set aside some time, we may visit the Nagadeepa Temple. Apart from the St. Mary’s Cathedral, you could admire the architectural style of the Pasikudah Mariamman temple nestled in the port city, Trincomalee. As for the forts, you can experience the ambiance around the Jaffna Fort and the fort in Kalpitiya, an archipelago with 14 islands.
Additionally, while you are in Jaffna, you will be amazed to see Dutch cannons and visually appealing artifacts at the Jaffna Archaeological Museum. Once we arrive in Anuradhapura, we will head for the Wilpattu National park, which is well known for its basins, usually filled during the rainy season. You will further be delighted to visit the Yala Park, which encompasses a vast forest region with different animals and species of birds all around. On our itinerary, we have also covered the Kumana National Park and the Arugam Bay in Trincomalee. During the tour, we will stop by Mannar Island to visit Adam’s Bridge. Apart from everything else, you can experience the hubbub at the Jaffna Fish Market, where various fish are sold.

Once you reach the Colombo/ Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), after meet & greet, transfer to the Hotel in Kalpitiya. The remainder of the day, explores the town by yourself. Kalpitiya is understood for its natural environment with 14 islands. It’s now developing as a tourist destination. One can have a relaxing day at the beach and enjoys some fishing activities, as most of the people within the village are fishermen.
Today after a leisurely breakfast, we visit a number of the must-see sights around the village. Firstly, we see Kalpitiya Fort, which was built by the Dutch between1667 to 1676. Kalpitiya was vital because it commands the doorway to the adjacent bay. The next halt shall be at the Dutch church. The church’s history is interesting; the town was once known to the traditional Tamil people of Sri Lanka as Kav Putti until the Portuguese invaded the city. Kalpitiya was a strategically important location for the Dutch to regulate the external trade of the dominion of Kandy. Here, 350 meters from their fort, they built a little church. Later we’ve our lunch and rest the evening at your leisure.
After breakfast, we do check out and leave for Jaffna. Jaffna is a city on the northern tip of the state. Before we reach Jaffna, we halt at the Mannar Island to see the Adam’s Bridge, popularly known as Ram Setu in Hindu Mythology. This bridge is a sequence of limestone shoals between Pamban Island / Rameswaram Island, off the southeastern coast of Tamil Nadu, India, and Mannar Island. Geological evidence suggests that this bridge could also be a former land connection between India and Sri Lanka. Post lunch, we proceed to Jaffna.
After breakfast, you shall join a full-day Jaffna unique city tour. Firstly, we visit Jaffna Fish Market. Sri Lanka isn’t an enormous place. Still, every morning it buzzes with life when fishers auction their daily catch. Visit temple Nallur Kandaswamy, a colossal Hindu temple with golden arches and an ornate gopuram tower. The next stop will be at Nainativu. It is a small but notable island off the coast of Jaffna Peninsula Historians. It is home to the Buddhist shrine Nagadeepa Purana Viharaya and the Hindu shrine of Nagapooshani Amman, one of the important 64 Shakti Peethas.
After spending some good lunchtime enjoying traditional Tamil cuisine, we visit St. Mary’s Cathedral. This Cathedral features a violent story, consistent with local folklore King of Jaffna Cankili I killed his son at this Cathedral after his son adopted Catholicism. The Prince’s ashes were buried at the spot where the King of Jaffna killed the Prince. And a chapel is now served as the memory of this sad event. After we pass the coast & visit star-shaped Jaffna Fort was created by the Portuguese in the 17th century. This fort was later occupied by the Dutch and British. Then, we see the Jaffna library could also be a logo of the city’s post-war regeneration. Jaffna Archaeological Museum has Dutch cannons and pre-colonial artifacts. Later in the evening the bus/car will drop you at
Jaffna shopping market, one can purchase Hand-crafted home items made up of palmyra, cane, and coconut are unique souvenirs.
After breakfast, we depart for Anuradhapura, talking about Anuradhapura, maybe a principal city of the state and a capital city of North Central Province. The town is one among the traditional capitals of Sri Lanka, popularly known for its well-preserved ruins of an ancient Sinhala civilization. On the way, we visit Yapahuwa, one of the temporary capitals of medieval Sri Lanka. Within the latter, a neighborhood of the 13th century (1273–1284). It is built on a vast, 90-meter high rock boulder similar to the Sigiriya rock fortress as a palace for a military stronghold against foreign invaders. Post lunch, we leave for Anuradapura.
Today after breakfast we depart for Wilpattu National park, a park located on the island, the park is particularly known for its population of Leopards. And also the park is that the well-known for the existence of “Willis” (Natural lakes) – Natural, sand-rimmed water basins or depressions that fill with rainwater. Post lunch we return back to admire the traditional city in Anuradhapura.
Today after breakfast, we visit the port city on the northeast coast of Sri Lanka, which is Trincomalee. The town is additionally referred to as Gokanna/Gokarna, which is that the administrative headquarters of the District – Trincomalee and major resort port city of Eastern Province. Trincomalee is also known for its beaches. Upon arrival checking at the Hotel for the remainder of the day leisure at the beach.
After a leisure breakfast, we have a city tour. This morning after a leisurely breakfast, we leave for Passikuda; Passikuda is also known to have one of the lengthiest stretches of shallow reef shoreline in the world. It’s also home to the Passikuda Mariamman temple.
One can relax to the heart’s content. Leave behind your worries and enjoy the moments at Passikuda. Meet new friends and enjoy while at the same time experiencing a whole different and mouthwatering variety of cuisines. Pasikudah is fast becoming an investor’s hub as foreign and native investors have shown interest in developing tourism along the beach. Today, the whole day is for relaxation and leisure activities on the beach.
Batticaloa isn’t in the least faraway from Passikuda; therefore, we’ve leisurely breakfast, then later inspect and proceed to Batticaloa. Historic Batticaloa, Batti brief, enjoys a spectacular position surrounded by lagoons with palm-filtered sunlight glancing off the water. There is a mellow vibe to the town, and therefore the compact center and its huge fortress and lots of churches are well worth a half day’s exploration on foot.
Today after breakfast, we proceed to Lovely Arugam Bay. This moon-shaped curl of sentimental sand is the simplest surf spot within the country. River Kumubukkan Oya borders the west side of The Park. A mangrove swamp called “Kumana Villu” within the Park is subject to occasional floods with seawater. At this marsh, many water birds’ nest occurs during May and June. There are several water pools in this Park, which are favorite spots of the wildlife. Later return to your hotel & the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in Arugam Bay.

After relaxed breakfast, check out and depart for Yala. Yala park an enormous area of forest, grassland, and lagoons bordering the Indian Ocean. Yala is a home to wildlife like leopards, elephants, crocodiles, and many bird species. The town is additionally known for its Buddhist monastery. On arrival, check into your pretty resort. Rest of them at leisure.
Rise at early hours for Yala wildlife Safari. Yala National Park is a huge forest, grassland, and lagoons bordering the Indian Ocean in southeast Sri Lanka. It’s home to wildlife such as leopards, elephants, and crocodiles, as well as hundreds of bird species. You have an option of a half-day or a full-day safari with a picnic lunch.
