In this 23-day tour, we will cover some temples, cities, monuments, and some more places that are very much interesting to visit. Besides, once we reach Pinnawala, you will be delighted to see captive elephants for many generations. We will further go hiking to the Ella rock to dwell with nature for some time. In addition to the Sinharaja Rain Forest, we will embark on the Madhu River Safari in Balapitiya and admire the mask carvings of Ambalangoda. On arrival at Colombo Airport & After Immigration Clearance, you’ll be meeting by a responsible. Later, Transfer & check into the in Negombo. Rest of the day to take rest and recover from Jet lag. But If you are excited about your tour, you can explore this small town and its picturesque beaches on your own. Visit Browns Beach, one of the few unspoiled private beaches in Negombo. It is famous for its luscious golden sands, turquoise blue water, and gorgeous palm trees. The beach is very close to the fishing village of Negombo. It boasts of being the most popular seaside resort in Negombo. Negombo is the best place for Seafood lovers. You can dine at one of the famous restaurants to enjoy fish and lobster.
Today after breakfast, we leave for Sigiriya. Well talking about the town, Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress located within the northern Matale District near the city of Dambulla. It’s known for its historical and archaeological significance. On arrival, check-in into the hotel. Post-lunch, you will get some time to rest. Later explore Dambulla. This town is documented for its cave temple (World Heritage Site). The cave depicts paintings and statues that are associated with Buddha and his life.
Today we visit Anuradhapura, an important city in Sri Lanka. It was the center of Theravada for several centuries & now a World Heritage site. It’s one among the eldest nonstop inhabited cities on earth and one among the eight World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka. Later in the evening, proceed back to Sigiriya.
Today is an adventurous day; after breakfast, we leave for a hike. We climb the Sigiriya Forest Rock. The name refers to a historical and archaeological site dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters high. It’s one of the best-preserved samples of ancient urban planning. Sigiriya today may be a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site.
Today after breakfast, inspect the hotel and leave for Kandy. On arrival in Kandy, check-in and later sightseeing of the gorgeous town. Kandy may be a large city in central Sri Lanka. It’s assailing a plateau surrounded by the mountains, biodiverse rainforests, and home to tea plantations. In the city’s heart, there is a scenic Bogambara Lake (Kandy Lake), which is famous for a stroll. Kandy is famed for its sacred Buddhist site, the Temple of the Tooth (official name Sri Dalada Maligawa) shrine. Every year there is a procession known as the grand Esala Perahera. (or else you’ll visit one of the gorgeous garden Royal Botanic Gardens)
Today may be a challenging day; visit The Three Temple in Loop Kandy; if you’re up for a challenge, and enjoy a walk to 3 compelling temples. A walk of up to 7 km (4.35 miles) path links the Embekke, Lankathilake, and Gadaladeniya temples. After a post-lunch break, we proceed to Pinnawala in Kegalle District of Sri Lanka and are around 90 km from Colombo’s capital. It’s documented for its elephant orphanage. Pinnawala has the main substantial herd of captive elephants on the planet. In 2011, 96 elephants, including 43 males and 68 females from 3 generations, live in Pinna Wala. Later in the evening, back to Kandy, have dinner.
On today after breakfast visit Nuwara Eliya (the Little England of Sri Lanka), Nuwara Eliya could also be a city within the tea country hills of central Sri Lanka. The naturally landscaped Hakgala Botanical Gardens displays roses and tree ferns, and shelters monkeys and blue magpies. Nearby Seetha Amman Temple, a vibrant Hindu shrine is decorated with religious figures. Today we visit the visit a tea plantation and a tea factory where the popular tea within the world is produced. Here, you’ll observe the method of making tea. You’ll also see how tea is graded. Taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea within the factory. After that, transfer to Nuwara Eliya on arrival check-in into the hotel and have lunch, the remainder of the day at your leisure.
After leisure breakfast, we visit Horton plains, which are found on a high windswept saddle at about 2134 meters above the sea level. The tables are a spread of misty grassland with scraggy trees and ice-cold rivulets. Visit the World’s End considered to be the best view altogether of Sri Lanka. The grand escarpment drops vertically for about 4,000 feet, hence its name. You’ll also see the gorgeous Backer’s falls. (Walk is about 14 km). The park shelters mammals like Sambhur, Leopard and endemic Bear Monkies. This area is that the home for over 20 endemic bird species including Sri Lanka’s Whistling Thrush, Orange-billed Babbler and Yellow-eared Bulbul.
Today is that the last and an adventurous day in Nuwara Eliya, we walk to Sri Lanka’s Highest and tallest Waterfall Bambarakanda. It’s 263 m tall. The waterfall was formed by the Kuda Oya river, which is a branch of the Walawe River. Later return to the hotel, Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
On this excellent day, we take a train from Nanu Oya station to Ella. The journey is of 3-4 hours. It’s a feast for nature lovers. The road journey takes around 1.5 hrs. The train takes a longer time as it crosses over many mountain ranges. On arrival at Ella station, transfer and check-in into the hotel. After a lunch break and a brief rest, visit the Mini Adam’s Peak it’s 1141 m tall, and from the doorway, it takes up to 30-45 min for the hike. Views from the summit are incredible. Three hundred sixty degrees of panoramic views with clouds rolling in.
Yes, today again is an adventurous day, we Climb Ella Rock With the assistance of an area guide. Trekkers would love the place. It’s a touch tiring to undertake the hiking. But it’s worthwhile. Rise and shine in the early hours. After breakfast, check out and start your day-long journey with some very interesting to explore some of the best beaches of Sri Lanka. Your first halt shall be at Mirissa Beach. The primary attraction in Mirissa is whale watching. You shall be lucky if you are traveling between October to April. Because during this time Ocean is calm, and whales migrate from the southern hemisphere to the northern hemisphere. This fantastic place of Mirissa is also known for its tuna, mullet, butterfish, snapper, and being the major fishing port on the South Coast. Post lunch, you start your onward journey. On the way, a brief photo stop shall be at Koggala. It’s famous for the Iconic stilt fishermen. It is the most interesting traditional fishing method in Sri Lanka. Fishers are known to practice this unique way of fishing, sitting on stilts for hours daily.
Before reaching Galle, you visit one of the most “Famous” destinations of Sri Lanka, named Unawatuna. It is a lovely banana-shaped beach of golden sand and turquoise water, surrounded by green palm trees! Here you will get some good time to enjoy Sea, Sand & Surf. Later transfer to your hotel in Galle. The rest of the evening is at leisure.
After leisurely breakfast, we visit the gorgeous sights of Galle; the town is understood for its UNESCO World Heritage Site, the attractively preserved Galle Fort. It is the most critical and exciting sea fortress in South Asia. First built by the Portuguese and later fortified by Dutch. Galle wears its history on its sleeve. Windswept beaches and nodding palms surround its colonial-era showpiece. After lunch, the rest of the day is at your disposal. You can go for a guided tour to admire some architecture work Dutch. They left their impressions with some beautifully designed heritage buildings. Or you can go shopping within the Galle fort where you’ll stroll around the little streets and buy local souvenirs. The more noticeable product that you’ll find is that the Sri Lankan gems and jewellery. It is worth visiting the Dutch Hospital Shopping Complex, the oldest structure in the Galle Fort area way back to the Dutch colonial era in Sri Lanka. It has now developed into a shopping and dining facility.
After breakfast, we visit one of the UNESCO sites in Sri Lanka, Sinharaja Rain Forest. The rain forest reserve and a biodiversity hotspot in Sri Lanka Sinharaja are the country’s last viable area of primary tropical rainforest. Entirely 60% of the trees are endemic, and much of them are considered rare. After the visit, the reminder of the day is at your leisure.
Transfer to Balapitiya after leisurely breakfast; today is a day at leisure within the coastal town called Balapitiya. One can visit Kowilawatta Temple, which is nearby. Alternatively, enjoy your resort’s recreational facilities.
After leisurely breakfast, you shall enjoy a memorable Madhu Riverboat Safari. Madu River is situated in the south of Sri Lanka. The river is spotted with small islands, and the river banks are all covered with mangrove forests. These mangroves are home to many incredible animal species. Enjoy many vibrant tropical birds, and if you are lucky, you can spot a few crocodiles. These creatures are pretty rare and don’t like crowds.
One can explore the town by visiting the famous mask carvings of Ambalangoda, which is simply 10 – 15 min far away from Balapitiya. Alternatively, you can spend some good leisure time at the beach.
Well, today is also a day at leisure; Balapitiya is known for its pretty traditional fishing activities; one can spend their time relaxing on the golden sandy beaches.
After leisurely breakfast, check out & leave for Colombo. Colombo is the commercial and financial capital of Sri Lanka. This busy and vibrant place is a mix of modern life and colonial buildings. On arrival, you shall have a short city orientation tour. Later check into the hotel. After freshen up and a quick nap, your driver will drop you near Beira Lake. It’s delightful just having a stroll around the lake. Another peaceful experience shall be a visit to the Buddhist Temple of Seema Malaka. You feel absolutely calm when you come here. With the entrance fees of this temple, you can visit one more Buddhist Temple named Gangaramaya. Here you will feel an atmosphere of worship and religion.
After breakfast, a local expert guide will take you on a half-day Colombo City tour. This tour is about some brief encounters with Colombo’s must-see places. You shall visit Folk Art Centre at Battaramulla. Drive past the Capital of Sri Lanka – Sri Jayawardanapura Kotte, Sri Lanka’s heroes’ Complex Kotte, Bandaranaike Memorial International Center, Town Hall. And the brief halt at Wolfendhel Dutch Church in Kotahena & Devatagaha Mosque. Post lunch free time for shopping. Colombo has several popular supermarkets, but the most popular shops are Barefoot & Paradise Road. Barefoot is a store, bookshop, gallery, cafe, performance space, and place to hang out, And Paradise road offers an abundance of things you’ll want to fill your home with. Conclude your tour with a leisurely walk on Marine Drive and dine at one of the famous restaurants serving food of your choice.
